RESUMO

Objective: This study was designed to compare object relations and anger control between MS patients and normal individuals. Method : The present study was a cross-sectional case-control study with two groups: the case group (patients with MS) and the control group (normal controls without MS). 80 patients and 80 healthy individuals were selected according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria using a simple random sampling method. The research's data collection tool was a three-part questionnaire consisting of demographic information, the Bell Object Relations and the Reality Testing Inventory (BORRTI) and the State-Trait Anger Expression Inventory 2 (STAXI-2). The data were analyzed by the SPSS software version 26 using descriptive and analytical statistics (stepwise regression). Results: The results showed that in terms of object relations, there was no significant difference between the two groups except in alienation of relations (P = 0.035). The results also showed that in general, there was no statistically significant difference between the anger index of the group of MS patients and the normal controls. However, 12.8% of MS patients were significantly different in state of anger, trait anger and anger control compared to normal individuals. This difference was especially higher in angry temperament (P = 0.025) and the anger expression-in (P = 0.04). Conclusion: Although patients with MS were not significantly different from healthy individuals in terms of intrapsychic and interpersonal functions in the context of object relations and anger management, it seems that more complex and multifaceted explanations lie in the results that need further research.

AIM AND OBJECTIVE: The effect of two different modification methods for introducing Ni into the ZSM-5 framework was investigated under high-temperature synthesis conditions. The nickel was successfully introduced into the MFI structures at different crystallization conditions to enhance the physicochemical properties and catalytic performance. MATERIALS AND METHODS: A series of impregnated Ni/ZSM-5 and isomorphous substituted NiZSM- 5 nanostructure catalysts were prepared hydrothermally at different high temperatures and within short times. X-ray diffraction (XRD), Field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM), Energy dispersive X-ray (EDX), Brunner, Emmett and Teller-Barrett, Joyner and Halenda (BETBJH), Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) and Temperature-programmed desorption of ammonia (TPD-NH3) were applied to investigate the physicochemical properties. RESULTS: Although all the catalysts showed pure silica MFI-type nanosheets and coffin-like morphology, using the isomorphous substitution for Ni incorporation into the ZSM-5 framework led to the formation of materials with lower crystallinity, higher pore volume and stronger acidity compared to using impregnation method. Moreover, it was found that raising the hydrothermal temperature increased the crystallinity and enhanced the more uniform incorporation of Ni atoms in the crystalline structure of catalysts. TPD-NH3 analysis demonstrated that high crystallization temperature and short crystallization time of NiZSM-5(350-0.5) resulted in fewer weak acid sites and medium acid strength. The MTO catalytic performance was tested in a fixed bed reactor at 460ºC and GHSV=10500 cm3/gcat.h. A slightly different reaction pathway was proposed for the production of light olefins over impregnated Ni/ZSM-5 catalysts based on the role of NiO species. The enhanced methanol conversion for isomorphous substituted NiZSM-5 catalysts could be related to the most accessible active sites located inside the pores. CONCLUSION: The impregnated Ni/ZSM-5 catalyst prepared at low hydrothermal temperature showed the best catalytic performance, while the isomorphous substituted NiZSM-5 prepared at high temperature was found to be the active molecular sieve regarding the stability performance.

This study was performed to evaluate the visual, refractive, and aberration measurement results of 2 implants, including Intacs Intracorneal Ring Segments (ICRS) and phakic Toric Implantable Collamer Lens (TICL), in patients with moderate Keratoconus (KCN). In this retrospective cross-sectional study, 30 patients with KCN with a mean age of 29.83 years were included in 2 groups, including the Intacs Intracorneal Ring Segments (ICRS) group and the phakic Toric Implantable Collamer Lens (TICL) group. Preoperative data as well as 6-month, 1-, 2-, 3- and 4-year follow-up data after the operation were collected and analyzed with the SPSS software (ver. 23.0, SPSS, Inc., Chicago, IL), using the paired t-test, independent t-test, repeated measures Analysis of Variance (ANOVA), and one-way ANOVA. This study included 30 patients with KCN with a mean age of 29.83 years and range of 25 to 35 years, including 17 males with a mean age of 30.11 years and 13 female with a mean age of 29.25 years. Except for preoperative Uncorrected Distance Visual Acuity (UCDVA), Spherical Equivalent (SE) and astigmatism, there was a significant difference between the 2 groups regarding other variables. The TICL group had a significantly better UCDVA and Best Corrected Distance Visual Acuity (BCDVA) in all post-operative follow-ups, and SE and astigmatism values were significantly lower in all post-operative follow-ups when compared with the ICRS group. There was a significant reduction in corneal and total coma as well as internal trefoil aberrations (P<0.01, P<0.01, and P=0.014, respectively) in the ICRS group, and TICL led to a significant reduction in internal trefoil aberration with P<0.03. Comparison of the 2 groups revealed a significant difference in corneal spherical (P<0.01) and total coma (P=0.02) aberrations and no significant differences in other HOA. Both ICRS and TICL are useful in patients with moderate KCN. However, TICL appears to have more stable and predictable vision results.

OBJECTIVE: Coronary slow flow phenomenon has been arbitrarily defined as delayed coronary blood flow in the absence of obstructive coronary artery disease. The present study sought to investigate the clinical features, natural history, and outcomes of affected patients. METHODS: In this prospective cross-sectional study, 217 consecutive patients who had undergone coronary angiography and showed features of coronary slow flow phenomenon were evaluated for demographic and coronary risk factor profile, as well as clinical outcomes, at baseline and following treatment. RESULTS: The study population consisted of 165 (76%) males and 52 (24%) females. The mean age of patients was 52.6±10 years. Mean ejection fraction was 48.2±5.4, 39.3% had diabetes, 43.3% had hypertension, 49.8% was a cigarette smoker, 41.9% had dyslipidemia, and 15% had a familial history of cardiac disease. Forty-nine percent was detected to have abnormal hsCRP levels. The most prevalent presenting complaint was atypical chest pain. Fifty-four percent of patients had slow blood flow in all three vessels. Thirty-six people had undergone repeat coronary angiography in a follow-up period of 5-7 years due to persisting or worsening clinical symptoms, of whom 6 (16.6%) showed significant coronary artery stenosis. Eight (22.2%) had mild CAD, and the rest still showed coronary slow flow without significant stenosis. The most common complaint during follow-up and after initiation of medical therapy was nonanginal chest pain. CONCLUSION: Patients with coronary slow flow phenomenon are predisposed to atherosclerosis and obstructive coronary artery disease. Therefore, this pathology should not be considered as a totally benign condition. Primary and secondary cardiovasculature preventive measures should be constituted and seem worthwhile in this patient population.
